I am no longer taking new students for mentoring sessions. However, you are welcome to ask me questions of any depth in chat and I'll answer as I can. I am an assembly language expert, having mentored recently in MIPS, LC-3&4, MARIE, PEP/8&9, others. I will explain the concepts and fundamentals that you need to know. For example: how the processor works; how assembly language works; analogies for higher level languages concepts in assembly language; methodology for problem solving. While I do explanations, I don't do homework, assignments, projects, tests, quizzes, exams (practice or otherwise) or freelance. The help I offer is about concepts: knowledge of how processors work, how assembly language works, how we accomplish the same thing in assembly as in other languages, and how programmers look at problems. So, ask me something about what you want to learn: what you don't know or what you are confused about that will help you in making progress on your assignment/project or upcoming test.

I am a startup Managing Director and hands-on technology leader working across edge AI, computer vision, embedded systems, hardware, and cloud infrastructure. My company develops two main solutions: AI-based driving-behaviour evaluation and commercial fleet management Train-mounted digital inspection of railway infrastructure Both solutions are built around our dual-camera edge-AI hardware and enterprise cloud platform. I have worked at Google, Microsoft, Salesforce, Tableau, T-Mobile, and Bill Gates’ think tank, the Institute for Disease Modeling at IV Labs, which later merged into the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Most recently, I led engineering for Gemini Code Assist at Google, helping take an AI coding assistant from early development to adoption by millions of developers using VS Code and IntelliJ. My work focused on backend systems, developer tooling, platform architecture, and AI-assisted development, with an emphasis on performance, scalability, and real-world developer workflows. I have also founded startups, served as a CTO, raised venture funding, and taken products from prototype to production and through acquisition. My approach is practical and structured, focusing on strong fundamentals, clear thinking, and building confidence. My primary technical focus today is JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, platform engineering, and AI-driven developer tools, with experience across many other languages as needed.

During my grad school period, I developed a fascination for programming and embedded systems. Since then, I've been teaching "Embebbed C" for advanced students at the university, and "Advance Programming" in C++. On the other hand, I've worked with algorithms and problem solving, so a strong background in Matlab and Python was required. After academia, I've worked developing embedded C/C++ applications with Qt interfaces. Later, I decided to pursue a Ph.D. in hardware design in FPGAs for fast data processing. Since then, I've developed different projects using C, C++, Python, Qt, Keras, Skit-learn, Pandas, VHDL, scripting, and more. I really enjoy being a mentor because I can continue teaching, giving a different perspective, and helping others with solutions for different cool projects.
