Started programming at age 12 in 1988 on a Commodore VIC-20. Extremely adept at debugging of all kinds, performance optimization, databases, embedded systems, operating systems, networking, testing and automation across a wide variety of languages, APIs and frameworks, high level as React/Typescript and as low level as knowing several CPUs assembly languages and designing microcontroller PCBs. It is way too much to just enumerate. Formerly worked at Microsoft in Windows Protocols and Engines team.

Computing Enthusiast with 20+ years of research and advancing technologies from HW/SW system development up to toolchains and tuning of large industry appliances. I am not raising money on (verified) students, i.e.: - any question, clarification or basic discussion like on StackOverflow is free - usually i suggest 60$/hour or fixed 100$ with unlimited hours. latter is useful if you have large task (like writing compiler for some educational language) This is not my regular job - I'm just enjoying helping people to get better. So be patient if I'm not responding quickly - I have regular job and family. Usually I'm helping with low-level, system or parallel programming (unpopular topics here). Rarely with hardware architecture tasks.

With almost 20 years of programming experience, of which 15 years professional, I have delivered software from embedded systems to distributed, games to social media web applications, operating system kernels to video processing, to writing CAD tools for designing railway safety systems. My strongest programming languages are C, Python, Java and JavaScript, each of which I know like my own hands and each of which I have programmed in for more than a decade.

I have worked for four years as DSP engineer using primarily C (plus C++) to run on low level / embedded / DSP platforms, Windows and Linux, as well as ASM programming on various platforms. I have expert knowledge on full C89 and C99 standards with tons of practical experience, including debugging large pieces of software in C/C++ (MSVC, GDB or printf), and also a lot of code optimization work starting from C code. I have strong low level knowledge of networking sockets and multi-threaded applications using C. For version control I primarily used Git, often running alongside SVN, so I also have plenty of experience using these.

“I recently passed my Google interview and I'm now in team matching! I'm still in shock, to be honest, since I heard back last week. This wouldn't have been possible without Brian - thank you!! I worked with Brian for nearly 1.5 months, and we dedicated several hours to interview prep 4-6 days a week, for anywhere between 3-6 hours a day. I know it may seem excessive, but it was absolutely necessary. In the past, I had done poorly in interviews and often wouldn't even make it past the initial online coding assessments. I failed many times and only made it to two final round interviews after completing dozens of initial coding assessments. Brian worked with me on a long-term basis, and after a few weeks, I could see my confidence improve. I became faster with coding, finished the Blind 75, and nearly finished Neetcode 150. Brian was tough on me, but it was necessary. He taught me the importance of constantly communicating with interviewers while working through solutions. He also gave me a solid framework to help break down challenging questions in a way that made them easier to solve. I heard back within 3 days of my interview that they were moving me to "Hire" for L3. This wouldn't have been possible without Brian. He's an amazing coach and tutor. Thanks!“

“He is AMAZING. I'd been looking at some code for a month or two and couldn't figure it out even with my previous experience. He managed to figure out the issue within a 20 minute session and now I can finally actually see where there are errors! Definitely would recommend working with him :D“
