I've been working with UNIX-like systems (Linux, FreeBSD, OpenBSD, Mac OS X and many more) for about 20 years, both as a hobby, as my field of study and as a profession. I run my own company in Sweden in UNIX consultation, education and hosting. I've also written five books about programming and Linux. The first book is about Python. The second book is about C programming in Linux, macOS, BSD and Solaris. The third book is about Linux system administration. The forth one is about Linux system programming (the only one in English). The fifth one is about Docker. I prefer to do freelance jobs. I can also do sessions though, but keep in mind that I prefer to use text chat only, no voice.

I used to be a university professor before switching to professional software development. Probably this is why I still love helping people. I can help you with everything related to Ruby and Rails. If you have the performance or scaling problem, I'm definitely the guy to ask. Over the last 10 years I became an expert on optimizing Rails applications, and, as the result, wrote the Ruby Performance Optimization book (http://ruby-performance-book.com).

Senior solutions architect, AI developer, and multiple-time CTO. 30 years of engineering — not prompting, engineering. 20+ books written before AI made that a dubious claim. I was building AI agent orchestration systems in 2022. What the industry now calls agentic AI, I was running and shutting down (it ordered pizza unprompted) while most people were still figuring out ChatGPT. Since then: CTO at CloudPrinter, where I turned a two-person-year engineering backlog into five weeks of production code. Before that: founded a game studio that grew to 20 people, an AI startup with 1,600 waitlisted users, and 70+ consulting projects for clients including Microsoft, Chrysler, Mars, and NBC Universal. I work with companies that need someone who can build the thing, lead the team, and explain it to the board, all in one package. If you want tomorrow to happen now, talk to me. Available fractional or consulting, remote.

“⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Emmanuel was outstanding. We had a critical internal error that brought our production to a complete stop, and he jumped on it immediately. Fast, professional, and thorough he diagnosed and resolved the issue without any back-and-forth or delays. Everything is running perfectly now. When you're down and every minute counts, that kind of response is exactly what you need. Highly recommend Emmanuel without hesitation.“

“We discussed a bunch of product ideas I've been accumulating lately; then we figured out which one we'll start on and how. We settled on doing it properly: gather requirements, define the system design, and only then start the actual implementation.“

“Kazi was an excellent tutor who gave me great advice and helped build a strong foundation in C and Assembly for my upcoming exam. He explained challenging concepts in a way that actually made sense, focused on the core skills and logic I need to keep improving, and even gave me practice problems to work on after the session so I could keep strengthening my understanding on my own. His patience and ability to simplify the tougher Assembly topics really stood out, and after working with him I feel much more confident in my ability to keep studying and pass my test. I’d definitely recommend him to anyone needing help with C, Assembly, or exam prep.“
