Being a software developer is more than just learning to program in a computer language. I have been building .NET web apps for years and multiplayer games since 2015, using Unity 3D using Photon Fusion (server-authoritative). I have also designed and/or worked on enterprise web sites from concept to deployment, some high-profile projects. I have served as a Senior or Lead Developer for years, mentoring other developers and encouraging them to use the latest technologies and best practices. For tutoring, I would focus on teaching design patterns, using events and encapsulation when designing applications and reinforcing the need to keep your skillset current as new technologies are released. I can give advice on how to focus your learning efforts to target specific types of development positions, and interviewing advice for finding a position within a software company. I had been a developer in C++ for about 10 years prior to using C# and focused on web technologies prior to working with Unity 3D. While I have primarily been using Unity 3D and Microsoft .NET / C# recently, I have also utilized legacy technologies like Classic ASP, VB and VB.NET, COM/DCOM, worked with Linux/PHP/MySQL from time to time, and worked with the Microsoft SQL Server/Express/CE products for 10+ years. I also have formal SCRUM training, which is used by many companies for handling team project management. For Unity 3D multiplayer networking projects I typically work with and recommend Photon Fusion along with PlayFab integrations, PlayFab Matchmaking, and PlayFab GameServers. If your college project is a "Concept to POC" type of project where the Proof of Concept is the working software required for a grade, then I will also teach you to use a Git repository to manage the project (or Plastic/UVCS for Unity projects). I can help you document the Project Scope, Functional Specs, create Design Documents, and build the presentation for your college project. We can build completed projects in a short time, both the user interface and the server components as needed. My focuses are Unity 3D multiplayer, C#, .NET Core

Nice to meet you! I'm here to help you level up your R skills with my extensive experience in data science with R. I excel in data visualization with **ggplot2**, data wrangling with the **tidyverse**, and data communication with **Quarto** and **Shiny**—whether you need guidance on best practices, troubleshooting, or refining your data storytelling. I’m a graduated computational ecologist with 15 years of coding experience. I’ve worked with various programming languages, but I’ve truly fallen in love with R and the tidyverse. As an independent data visualization professional, I combine my passion for coding with my drive to help others communicate insights effectively. I specialize in a code-first approach and enjoy teaching programming, particularly functional programming and data science with R, and data visualization with ggplot2 and related libraries. I love to share my knowledge by the means of open source sharing, tailored workshops, and 1:1 consulting to help others gain the skills they need to succeed.

I've been programming for 30 years, 20 of them in a professional environment. I've worked on everything from small back-end ETL programs, to military embedded systems, to web front ends, to desktop applications, to operating systems. My experience ranges from the youngest startups to some of the largest banks, software and consulting institutions. I've worked many different languages ranging from bare metal assembly all the way up to modern C#. These days I mainly concentrate on the Microsoft stack for backend work (along with open source databases), with the standard web front end technologies - HTML, CSS, JS, jQuery, Angular, Bootstrap, etc.

I am very skilled with database mapping, web development, web/integration services development using C# and the .NET stack. I have written web services and data integration components for professional sports teams like the SF 49ers and Miami Dolphins, enabling them to integrate point of sale systems, customer relationship management software. I also have experience gathering requirements for and setting up Umbraco and DotNetNuke CMS systems. While receiving my education as a developer at Oregon State, I received an award for best student developer mentor at my professional software development job, as well as other accolades.

“Matei is great! Super patient for a non-technical person and provides very intuitive explanations for what is happening in code (e.g. server talking to client, client talking to stripe). Also is very adaptable to each person's needs (fast at referencing developer tools). Highly recommend!“

“My session with Zack was extremely helpful. He broke down fundamental Python concepts in a way that finally made them click and helped me get a clear, organized starting point for building a project, even if it was still rudimentary. His explanations were patient, practical, and confidence-building. I would absolutely recommend Zack as a mentor. I’d give a 6/5 if I could.“

“I highly appreciate the support during my algorithms midterm preparation. The teaching approach was thorough and interactive, prioritizing a step-by-step understanding of complex topics. Furthermore, the PDF summary provided at the end is an excellent review resource, as he specifically pointed out the fundamental gaps in my knowledge, which was great“

“Antonin is clearly an Expert in Flutter and guided me in making changes to my architecture that were needed to resolve some bugs that I was struggling with for days. I had already hired several others to try to solve these bugs but they did not get to the root of the issue or provide the level of explanation and understanding that Antonin did. He prepared for the session based on some preliminary info that I sent and even made two diagrams for me in advance. He is passionate about teaching and mentoring, and I was really grateful to have found him“
