Carbon accounting & environmental data management platform.

• Built a data ingestion platform with role-based access, step-by-step forms, and file uploads to simplify carbon accounting processes.
• Directed frontend architecture decisions, product and UX improvements (React/Vite performance optimization, dynamic table layouts based on API, consistent and shared UI library, visual hints, shortcuts etc.) which reduced customer support engagement and allowed focus on growth.
• Participated in the hiring and mentorship of additional team members.

Here’s what I did to rev up the team and product:

1. Added key features towards our product stability and value
   • Payment processing and international payments were added which kicked off a revenue stream.
   • Added a feature to compare vendor spending. This gave users a clearer picture of their invoices and vendor spend.
   • Introduced UI tests which reduced QA time and increased product stability.
   • I also advocated for a more granular approach to building components. This not only made us more efficient but also busted some “knowledge silos”.
2. Boosted team communication
   • We put in place a weekly team catch-up to iron out our engineering standards.
   • We fine-tuned our code review process by jotting down some key principles.
   • I also helped to create a technical roadmap to guide our decisions and ensure scalability.
3. Fine-tuned our approach to feature discovery and product ownership
   • We assigned a ‘go-to’ person for each feature, which let engineers pinpoint potential roadblocks early.
   • We started splitting the feature into ‘must-have’ and a ‘nice-to-have’ tasks which resulted in better business planning.

All these efforts paid off big time.
We secured Series A funding, kick-started our revenue stream, grew our customer base, and built a solid track record of delivering high-quality features and products.
