I have been writing software and npm modules for node.js since 2012, with 16 packages published to NPM. Some of my original software for node.js is still in use today where it was deployed, unchanged. With the addition of ES6, ES7 and the babel transpiler, writing software for node.js is easier than ever, and is quickly becoming my go-to.

I started using rails when it was originally released back in 2009. I happened by a teach-yourself-rails book that was launched with it and have been hooked ever since. The majority of backend projects I have worked on are with Rails. It's a fantastic framework, and I've flexed it to work with so many different domains in projects, speaking volumes about its capabilities.

I started using ember with version 1.8 in 2014, along with firebase, to quickly build small economic experiment programs for Chapman University's Economic Science Institute. Since then, my love for the framework has grown tremendously. Almost all projects I build on the side use ember and firebase. One larger application I wrote was the Antiquarium project, with ember as a frontend deployed in the amazon CDN and a rails + postgres backend hosted through heroku, making it simple to build quickly as a one-man-team.

I taught myself javascript in order to write applications for node in 2012. I have been following the developments and community since, fully loving and embracing the new ecmascript standards which allow for much cleaner application architecture. I spend a decent amount of my day writing, debugging, or thinking about javascript software.
