iOS Engineer

I am an iOS developer interested in early stage companies with strong engineering cultures that are led by passionate people. I enjoy making a big impact on products that I believe in and actually use.

Currently at AnyPerk, where I'm heading iOS and Android development, and focused on creating delightful e-commerce experiences for our customers. Recently, I've integrated Realm into our iOS app to lower response times for users and started the move from Objective-C to Swift (currently at 30%).

Previously at The Hunt, where I was the Lead Engineer on the iOS app (top 100 and featured in the Lifestyle category) and a frequent contributor on the Rails backend. I spent a good deal of time making our development workflow smoother so we could build solid features as fast as possible. Given the small size of the team, I typically built my own API components for the iOS app to consume and attentive to scaling problems as The Hunt got more popular. I oversaw development of the app from zero users to 10,000 DAU, while keeping rate of crash-free users at >99.5%.

I also lead the team's effort to switch to Swift and to the mobile database Realm to improve user experience. At The Hunt, I developed a share extension so users can post images from their favorite website or app - with App Groups and Keychain Sharing built in to share the main app's user session.

At The Hunt, I wrote API endpoints for iOS features I was building and was responsible for preventing and if necessary fixing any scaling issues that arose as we grew from zero to 10,000 DAU. At AnyPerk, I've integrated with Stripe to build a payments platform that the web and iOS clients can use. I wrote push notification services to send messages to the iOS client, as well as integrated with other push notification providers including the now-defunct Parse and Firebase.
