I've worked on JavaScript heavy web applications over the last few years, focusing on React single page applications over the last 1-2 years. My most notable projects are tools for Daily Fantasy Sports players - the RotoGrinders.com Lineup Builder and DFS Analyzer. I've also implemented microservices on AWS architecture using ExpressJS and NodeJS. In my current job, I manage a team of developers in addition to writing code.

Rails is my backend framework of choice. I've implemented non-trivial apps using Rails 3 and 4 such as a custom CMS, a marketplace connecting Farmers and Restaurants, and an event registration system. I would rate my Rails experience lower than Javascript because my current employer does not use Rails so I'm not developing on Rails daily.

My development workflow is command line based. I primarily develop on a MacBook Pro and also SSH into an Ubuntu Linux dev environment for my current job. One of the biggest stumbling blocks for new developers is finding their way around the command line and I think it's an important, yet overlooked, aspect of becoming an effective developer. I don't claim to be a command line guru, as there is an endless amount to learn, however I believe I can help a new developer understand the basics without getting overwhelmed.
