Hi, my name is Francisco, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to help you. I love playing and working with technology, and I still remember with joy the day when I ran my very first Fortran program—a lifetime ago.
I started with Fortran IV G/H on IBM /370 mainframes in 1975, then moved on to Cobol, Basic, PL/I, ASM/370, Algol, Pascal, Lisp, ASM x86, C, dBase, Clipper, C++, Mathematica, REXX, VB, VBA, HTML & CSS, SQL, VB .Net, C# .Net, PHP, Javascript, Python, and others. I haven't stopped yet.
Within Information Technology, I have done it all: from scientific programming to business systems; from operating systems (drivers and internals) to compiler development; from websites and online applications to automated trading systems; from macro languages' automation routines to neural networks and other machine learning algorithms; and many other things. I love learning new paradigms and have a very broad range of interests. Being older than most people around here affords me something invaluable: experience. And of that, I have a lot. Please, allow me to share it with you.

I enjoy programming in VB a lot. Mostly because of its natural evolution from VB6 and VBScript, VB.Net became language I used more frequently than others. In fact, under the .Net framework, VB is absolutely equivalent to C#, with a more forgiving syntax. And I have ported some quite complex projects straight from VB6 to VB.Net with very little effort.

I find it an extremely powerful programming language, and I have, for taste, whenever possible, avoided using its popular frameworks, but I have used jQuery and jQuer UI, and also some functional packages like AMCharts and Shotgraph.

I have developed several VBA scripts for automating various tasks related to computations done in Excel, some simple, others very complex. I enjoy VBA quite a lot for its simplicity and down to earth approach to getting things done. At the same time, I admire its depth and breath of applications. I feel I accomplish almost anything with this very simple language.
