Keep the faith, because you're the only one who can limit you.

I am a Staff Software Engineer with 14 years of experience building production systems across global classifieds, marketplace products, and enterprise security platforms, most recently as founding frontend tech lead on Bishop Fox's Cosmos. The pattern across my career has been platform-zero ownership: being the engineer brought in to establish the architectural foundations (RFC to ADR governance, domain-driven boundaries, frontend organisation) that let small teams stay fast as the product matures. I have also led cross-functional initiatives outside pure frontend, including Bishop Fox's internal AI engineering platform, now in use across the engineering organisation. My next step is a Tech Lead or Staff Software Engineer role where the technical decisions I make today shape the product trajectory for years, ideally on a platform problem where domain modelling and engineering rigour are load-bearing.

Founding frontend technical lead on Cosmos, Bishop Fox's continuous offensive-security platform - used by enterprise customers including Google, Amazon, Equifax, Zoom, and John Deere. Joined at platform-zero (PM + 2 FE engineers, no backend) to drive feature parity with predecessor CAST and ship capabilities the legacy product couldn't support. Team grew to nine over three years. Stack: Next.js / React / TypeScript, Go on the backend.

  1. Three-year delivery arc. Year one: feature parity with CAST. Year two: all CAST customers migrated to Cosmos. Year three: backend rebuilt to microservices on Kafka.
  2. Reversed an in-flight Auth0 -> Keycloak migration via written RFC. Joined a month in; the decision was undocumented. My RFC compared feature parity, true infrastructure cost (engineer time, DevOps drag), and roadmap risk - projected license savings were dwarfed by opportunity cost against Q2 IAM stability and Q3 customer features. Reversal approved. Three years on, still on Auth0; the RFC/ADR process built off this is the team standard.
  3. Initiated and led Bishop Fox's internal AI engineering platform. Cross-functional initiative across product, DevOps, backend, and frontend. Stack: per-project CLAUDE.md context files, custom Claude Code skills, AI-aware linting rules, and a self-hosted plugin marketplace installable via the in-CLI /plugin command. Now used across the engineering org. Product teams automate AHA -> Jira ticket migration; engineers start feature work via AI-assisted branch creation; AI surfaces incomplete specs as Jira comments rather than guessing.
  4. Engineering standards and architecture. Operate the team's RFC/ADR process with tiebreaker authority. Set the domain-based code organisation that scales the Cosmos frontend without cross-feature regressions. Technical reference for the frontend team in perf and growth conversations.

Frontend lead on KUDO Marketplace, the self-service B2C/B2B tier of KUDO's live-interpretation platform. Two-sided marketplace: 1,000-3,000 interpreters on supply side, hundreds to low-thousands of client orgs on demand side. Stack: React / TypeScript / Stripe / Google Meet / Zoom / Microsoft Teams. Led an international India-US team.

Key achievements:

  1. Built the frontend function from scratch. Team 2 -> 7 in 14 months. Owned 1-on-1s, planning, retros, hiring. Bug volume fell from hundreds to low tens after TypeScript migration + RFC/ADR; remaining defects were upstream in product specs.
  2. Championed RFC -> ADR org-wide. Adopted across all KUDO engineering, building on patterns introduced at OLX. Accelerated onboarding by preserving decision context.
  3. Incremental TypeScript migration with team enablement. Migrated JS/CRA codebase; ran knowledge-sharing sessions instead of mandating.
  4. Accessibility and testing discipline. ARIA + screen-reader verified; React Testing Library asserting end-to-end user flows over unit mocks.

Promoted from Frontend Engineer in June 2021 after ~12 months on the platform team (see Frontend Engineer entry). The promotion recognised platform-team contributions and expanded my scope into architectural process, hiring, and frontend leadership. Stack: Next.js / React / TypeScript / CSS Modules.

  1. Introduced the RFC -> ADR architectural-decision documentation process for the Real Estate engineering division. The process preserves not just decisions but the context behind them. It subsequently spread to adjacent Real Estate divisions and became the foundation of practices I later re-installed and refined at successive companies.
  2. Led the frontend within the platform team in partnership with the engineering manager. Owned new-hire interview rotations; raised product-specification gaps with the product team early rather than discovering them during implementation. On the path to engineering-manager track when offered the Lead role at KUDO.
