I've spent 16 years building WordPress platforms and frontends, from agency work to enterprise-scale projects. Right now I manage a high-traffic WordPress Multisite serving 500,000 daily visits for a major US nonprofit — handling everything from custom Gutenberg blocks built with React and PHP to plugin audits, accessibility testing, and Pantheon deployments.
Before that, I co-founded TOK Digital Agency in Tirana and ran its web development for 8 years. I grew the team to 10 developers, hired and trained around 50 over the years, and led projects for Albania's biggest enterprise clients including Raiffeisen, Telekom, Spar, and BMW.
WordPress and frontend aren't separate skills for me. I build custom themes from Figma to pixel-perfect code, migrate sites off page builders to native Gutenberg, and have built full React/Next.js dashboards — including one for a music platform integrating TikTok, ClickHouse, and Power BI APIs.

I built the nine.ch website from the ground up in WordPress, based on Figma designs, developing a fully custom theme with a scalable architecture. I implemented approximately 40 custom Gutenberg blocks using React for the editor experience and PHP for server-side rendering, allowing flexible and reusable content building across the site. In addition, I integrated third-party services such as SorryApp for real-time status visibility. I also focused heavily on performance optimization and accessibility improvements, enhancing load times, Core Web Vitals, and WCAG-compliant user experience to ensure a fast, accessible, and production-ready website.

I worked as the lead front-end developer for Albayan.ae, the digital platform of Al Bayan, one of the top Arabic-language daily newspapers in the UAE. During my year there, I led the front-end development and integration of the NewsPublish CMS. I collaborated with a team of about 20 people, including editorial, back-end, DevOps, and management.
I created a responsive, fast-loading front end using Next.js, React, SASS, and JavaScript. It matched Al Bayan's branding and was optimized for the site's mainly mobile audience. A major challenge was implementing right-to-left (RTL) layouts and Arabic typography throughout the experience. I also adjusted the CMS to fit the fast-paced editorial workflow of the newsroom.
To enhance functionality, I integrated dynamic content APIs for real-time publishing and added SEO-friendly features, which improved content visibility. The outcome was a high-performance news platform that made editorial tasks easier and enabled Al Bayan's team to publish breaking news more quickly and reliably.
