As the sole WebGL developer, my task is to create a virtual tour in which the user could navigate using a mobile. The starting point was a blender file used to create final renders, and several steps were required to make this web friendly: 1 - isolate only assets that would be visible to the user. 2 - optimize the assets while preserving the visual quality. 3 - create light maps, to bake the lighting, allowing a photorealistic light with no impact on performance. 4 - develop and test different camera navigation type. 6 - look dev specific assets that were the center piece of the experience. 7 - various polishing, such as volumetric lights, reflective surfaces and clouds. 8 - create custom GLSL shaders for animated characters. The results surpassed the client expectations, both in terms of performance and visual quality.

As the sole WebGL developer, I was in charge of creating a virtual tour, where the users can navigate inside a farm where many tractors are displayed. The challenge I solved were: - optimize 30+ different 3D models of tractors, each being a 1G+ file. I reduced them each to 1Mb without loss of visual quality. - create different level of details (LODs) for each model and switch which version is displayed depending on the camera position. - create the camera navigation system where the user can click on the Point of Interest and this animates the camera to the target position. - At each camera position change, hide or show the relevant objects, such as new Points of Interests or specific tractors. - develop the look dev, which included the creation of light maps, the addition of a sky to create stunning visuals. - create custom GLSL shaders for pulsating Points of Interest.
