I've worked as an android developer for 4-5 years. I have lots of experience in different industries. When I first started I was taking one off project from people who were interested in android apps. This was before android apps were big thing. I don't think there were many jobs yet for android developers. About a year into doing this Android started to take off, and people were actually hiring full time positions for android development. My first jobs was working for a creative agency, there I learned the importance of good ui, and ux. I worked on some projects for big companies like paramount, and qualcomm. Afterwards I transitioned to a company that focuses on making hardware, I currently work on making apps that configure and monitor hardware. It's very interesting in that I get to use a different skill set for these projects. It has allowed me to use other android sensors like bluetooh, and gps, google maps, etc. I've also spoken at andevcon, and am active in the android developer community.
