I worked as a founding engineer at Fable for 7 months, developing an AI marketing platform that generates personalized marketing campaigns and content for users. The product ingests a users’ website, scraping each page to learn about their brand. It uses that information to generate content like tweets or blog posts. I used technologies like Next.js, OpenAI API, Supabase, Unsplash API, and Slate for real-time writing.

During my time at Fable, I built the initial demo, which was silently released to around 1,000 beta users. I faced technical challenges such as building a crawler for website embeddings and prompt engineering to optimize AI-generated content. I also reduced the token usage by 95%, lowering the bill significantly. Additionally, I added a ‘finish the sentence’ feature, requiring more prompt engineering to achieve user-friendly outputs.

Throughout the project, I collaborated with the CEO/designer, focusing on both front-end and back-end development while they designed the UI.

As a lead mobile engineer, I successfully spearheaded the development and launch of both iOS and Android versions of the Fold app using React Native, achieving over 200k downloads. I collaborated with a back-end engineer on API integration and implemented a mobile build pipeline for continuous delivery of test and production versions. Additionally, I played a key role in hiring and mentoring new engineers, fostering a strong and open team culture.

I improved team productivity and communication by introducing modern project management and agile processes. I also scaled out the entity resolution platform using Azure Search, reducing resolution time significantly: from 6+ per query to less than 1 minute. Additionally, I motivated and designed standardized, reproducible cloud resource creation through infrastructure-as-code. We exposed models made by our data scientists via APIs to clients.
