I started teaching myself HTML and CSS when I was a Sophomore in High School and have been improving ever since. Started my first company my Junior year of high school, was part of an internship with a marketing company for about a year, then continued my business until I joined a team of developers my Senior year of high school where I was the head front-end developer and designer (as an independent contractor). I left that job to pursue my current venture of a Designated Driver application.

Just like HTML and CSS, it is in my blood. It is what I first learned and what I always end up falling back on to remind me why I love this field so gosh darn much. As I am sure other people feel with their respected favorite languages, I feel the most free with HTML and CSS. I can create what I want and how I want it to look, and then with the help of other languages like JavaScript, jQuery, Node.js and the Express.JS framework we can make even more amazing tools than we have now.

Since I was in high school I was amazed at how the web design of popular websites was changing year to year. I always heard people complaining about Facebook changing their layout, but I knew it was for a reason. And now all of their complaints have become their praises about why they love the current layout. I learn from others and the progress of current web design fundamentals. When i create a new design I take ideas from others, without trying to copy, and try to make it my own with my flare.

I started to learn MySQL when I was a Junior in High School, and went to FBLA nationals for Database Structure and Design my Senior year. That competition required knowledge of MySQL. However, now I have been using Parse.com's database exclusively and I'm very well versed in it now.
