I started dabbling in JavaScript about the same time I picked up Ruby on Rails to add some life to my projects. I've created quite a few JavaScript-based open source projects and I love using the SproutCore framework to make super-fast JavaScript apps for our main application as well as for fun side-projects!

I've been writing large-scale apps in SproutCore for a little over 3 years and have a proficient understanding of all of the core features (MVC, KVO, statecharts, custom views, data sources, the data store, etc.) as well as a good understanding of some of the less known features such as modules, frameworks, the build system and more. I'm very active in the community by contributing to and maintaining the guides, attending (and sometimes running) the weekly IRC meetings and I'm assisting in the node-based rewrite of the build tools. I've also delved into the old Ruby-based build tools to find and debug issues. I've learned many of the best practices over the last few years on how to optimize your app for performance and maintainability. If you need help writing a SproutCore app; I'm your guy.
