I'm a full stack developer with 21 years web development experience. I'm well versed in both front-end technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, JS and a wide range of javascript libraries as well as back-end technologies ranging from the web servers (Apache, Nginx, IIS) to the databases (MySQL, MongoDB, MariaDB, MS SQL) to the server side languages (PHP, Python, NodeJS, Perl, .NET) and a number of libraries and frameworks used in conjunction with any of the above. As you can tell I'm mostly into open source tech / Linux but I have dealt with Microsoft technologies quite a bit over the years.

After working extensively with MS SQL and Oracle for the first years of my career, MySQL (and related technologies) has been my DBMS of choice for over a decade. This happened because most open source CMS, eCommerce and CRM platforms had MySQL as the default DBMS. In addition to using it in dozens of freelance jobs, I also have managed it in my full-time employment for the online gaming industry where db performance is critical. Therefore, among my expertise is to optimize for speed and repair it after ocassional crashes. MariaDB has in the last few years become my preferred version of MySQL. I also higly recommend the TokuDB storage engine wherever InnoDB is usually used.

My experience with this DBMS is more recent but far more intense. A single 16-month project has been enough to get me up to speed on many of the common issues most developers, dev ops and db admins encounter with Mongo ranging from it's sometimes tricky optimization to debuging issues and running scripts to fix them. I have not though scaled MongoDB on a sharded cluster so because of that I'm not yet quite at expert level.
