The "bread and butter" of my skill set, I pride myself on my abilities on the front end. HTML and CSS were the very first languages I learnt in school, and along the way through numerous projects and jobs, I've built upon and enhanced that skill by adding frameworks and preprocessors to the mix. Currently work at Tangerine as a Senior Front end Developer

I actually didn't know a lot of JavaScript beyong jQuery and Ajax when I started my first job, so you can imagine the baptism of fire I went through when I had to begin learning AngularJS and having to read/write APIs. Although I initially though Ruby on Rails was my programming language of choice, there was something about JavaScript that just "clicked." I've since fallen even more in love with the language, and plan on expanding my skillset with React and MeteorJS

Sass was a much-welcomed breath of fresh air after years of vanilla CSS. I thoroughly enjoy creating reusable mixins, and love the fact that I can get Sass to do a lot of the heavy lifting when it comes to the math aspect of it. I now almost exclusively write my styles in Sass (which then compiles down to CSS).

Hired as the Marketing Department's dedicated Front-end Developer during the redevelopment of Tangerine’s website. Beyond setting up development, design and QA processes and suggesting tools/software for the team I was tasked to manage, my responsibilities included creating wireframes by extending on existing designs and consequently developing modularized and sustainable front-end components using Sass/CSS, HTML and AngularJS. Post launch of the redesigned platform, I was promoted to Senior Front-end Developer, where my onus shifted from day-to-day tasks to more large-scale projects, while still acting as a team lead for the other Front-end Developers. Such projects included leading the SEO iniative, streamlining the development process with a focus on making the team more "agile," working closely with the Data Analytics team to correct and maintain tracking on the site, implementing Accessibility standards in order to be WCAG 2.0 AA compliant, and setting up A/B tests through Google Optimize. Brought on by Sym-tech to help build a new web app (Sym-tech Claims Portal) that was to be sold to Auto insurance companies as white-labelled software. I worked on a stack that consisted of AngularJS on the front and MeteorJS on the back. My responsibilities included wireframing, creating high-fidelity mockups using Sketch, collaborating with server-side developers to validate user inputs and developing interactive Angular modules that functioned as designed. Some new frameworks used were Angular Material and Sass. Gryphtech
