For my PhD research I helped develop a real-time operating system from scratch. This operating system was for the x86 processor. It used hardware virtualization extensions and novel real-time scheduling techniques to provide timing and safety guarantees.

Python is my go to scripting language for both quick and dirty things and larger projects that need to take advantage of python's large collection of libraries. One of the larger projects I have used python for is a highly parallelizable CPU scheduling simulator that ran multiple machines and hundreds of cores.
