Curious software engineer

I'm Matthew, more commonly known as Mashu, and I'm a software engineer with a passion for solving problems and building cool things.

I've been in tech since 2017, where I attended a bootcamp to learn Ruby on Rails, and then spent years teaching software engineering. The main technologies I've taught include: Ruby, Ruby on Rails, PostgresQL, SQL, React, Redux, Javascript, jQuery, HTML/CSS, http networking, Node.js, and Express. Since 2021 I've been working as a software engineer at a cyber security company where my focus lies in the full stack. Meaning, I work on everything from database all the way to the UI.

In those years of teaching I've lectured to classrooms of 50 or so people in Ruby, Rails, OOP, Javascript, Node.js, Express, SQL, and more. I have also aided all those students (must be over a few hundred) to land their first roles in the industry through whiteboarding, mock-interviews, project guiding and code reviews.
