Co-founded this company with business partners from Traverse Data. Wellput specializes in native advertising in email. The platform facilitates the collaboration and negotiation between a Publisher and Advertiser. Duties included design and development of a dedicated ad server for the optimization and automated insertion of native advertising in email newsletters. Managing the development team, developer mentorship, translated business needs into actionable development tasks, writing business and technical documentation, code reviews, deployments, and a large individual development contribution. Additionally developed a client facing UI for creative collaboration and management of advertising campaigns and assets. Some high level details of the project are as follows.

• Scalable, containerized, fully automated AWS infrastructure capable of handling millions of requests per second with an average response time of 0.03s.
• Templated architecture via AWS CloudFormation YAML.
• Integrated infrastructure monitoring, alerts, and notifications via CloudWatch Alarms, SNS, Lambda and #Slack.
• Infrastructure is built with AWS Elastic Container Service, ECR, EC2, ELB, Lambda, S3, Kinesis Firehose, Step Functions for workflows, CloudFront, Route53, and VPC.
• Software architecture is Typescript, Nest.js, PostgreSQL, React, Redux, built on a mono repo.
• Auth0 for client authentication and SSO / social login.
• CI/CD is implemented utilizing GitHub Actions.
• 3rd party Email Service Provider API integrations with MailChimp, and Sailthru.

Hired in this position as an equity shareholder to help innovate, reduce costs, and improve performance of existing SaaS and DaaS systems. The role was to optimize, enhance, and run the day to day operations for our DaaS / SaaS platform and microservices. Primary responsibilities include cost cutting measures, platform enhancements, and development team management. Worked with the codebase every day including committing new or refactored code, along with translating product requirements, code reviews, and maintaining the backlog. Served as the Principal Dev-Ops Engineer maintaining and monitoring the full AWS stack, including the Jenkins CI / CD pipeline. To date accomplishments include and are not limited to:

• Re designed and implemented scalable and highly available, containerized architecture.
• Spearheaded an initiative to cut AWS monthly costs by nearly 40% over 90 days from $105K to $65K / month or nearly $500K / year.
• Rerouted VPC Private Subnet NAT traffic through Squid Proxy saving an additional $25K /mo.
• Increased stability, efficiency, and overall data throughput by introducing queues, batch processing, and failover methods.

The primary role with ASM was to lead the design / architecture of new features and solutions for the existing Medical Credentialing SaaS platform and microservices architecture. Part of this role was to manage a team of nine engineers to implement the new features, and support the existing infrastructure all while maintaining the highest possible performance across our multi-tenant environments. An overview of accomplishments is as follows:

• Revolutionized the existing platform by automating the sending and receipt and ingestion of Faxes, Emails, and general credentialing materials.
• Developed a new web crawler that secures digital copies of, and imports credentials from State and Federal agencies completely autonomously.
• Increased productivity to the tune of 30% by developing more efficient customer service tools that integrate directly with Zendesk, development, and C-level management systems.
• Streamlined new feature development and lowered costs by introducing AGILE methodologies. My approach here was to utilize Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, and a shorter sprint cycle to effectively test and ship products faster and more reliably.
