HTML and CSS were the first languages I began developing in. I've watched the use cases change drastically from table implemented designs, through web 2.0, into the semantic web and web applications.

I've been developing javascript since 2000. I believe myself to be very competent and actively follow, and implement, upcoming advances to the ECMAScript specification as they become available on browsers (and before wherever transpilers make them available).

I've been utilizing SQL as long as I've been using PHP as part of the standard LAMP stack. I have a keen understanding of how to organize and utilize relational data cleanly and efficiently using indexing and stored procedures.

I began using node in 2013 alongside my roommate in small home brew experiments. Since then I've started using node more often as a reliable back end system. I find that having a consistent language for both front and back ends makes for smoother development, and having access at a networking level within the programming language, as opposed to other services, grants much more flexibility than most other back end languages I have experienced.
