Hello,
My name is Gabriel Rider, I have over 7 years worth of experience as a Senior Database Developer and Data Engineer.
I have also worked for an engineering firm on automation projects. I have worked extensively with Ignition HMI that uses Python as its back end language. Using this platform in conjunction with several different databases, I have created many projects including.
- A recipe management system that creates and stores the data for an industrial recipe system and transfers the data to the PLC when needed.
- Many applications that integrate MySQL and SQL Server databases and Python to perform industrial applications.
- Many one-off scripts for the Ignition HMI platform.
At my day job now, I work extensively with SAP and SQL Server development.
When SQL Server Procedures are not good enough to use for data wrangling needs, I can also rely on my Emacs Lisp/Macro and Python/Pandas skills to get the job done.
I am open to training new students/junior developers the unique ways of working that I have developed for solving problems on these projects.

Working here, I am in charge of the data and database of multiple CMMS systems. This includes Maintenance Connection and SAP.
This also includes migrating data from Maintenance Connection (the legacy system) to SAP.
In order to perform data migration, it is necessary to transform the data from one platform to the other.
Utilizing advanced VBScript, it is then possible to then script the data into SAP.
I utilize Spotfire for reporting.
It is also necessary to create and maintain SQL Server procedures in order to load data into the Maintenance Connection system as needed.
