Evan Benshetler

Hello! I have bachelors and masters degrees in computer science, previously worked for 9 years at Google as a SWE and rotated as an SRE, and presently work for Red Hat as a principal software engineer.

My professional development expertise has been in distributed systems, but I have fun doing hobby development on the side. My strength is in backend development, especially around system architecture, algorithms, and optimization. My most comfortable languages are Python and C++, but I have some experience with Haskell and have touched some Elixir.

In terms of mentoring, I tutored most of the freshman - junior level computer science courses in college, have mentored several junior engineers professionally, and taught courses for new engineers just joining both Google and Red Hat.
