I have spent the last 9 years working with startups to build their tech stacks up and grow their business. The first few months are critical to success and getting something into the market quickly is the most important thing you can do.
The thing I enjoy the most is automation. Being able to have 1 click deploys, continuous deployment and full integration testing that doesn't suck. Making it possible for even the CEO to push code daily.
The last 6 or so years have been spent on Rails and rapid prototyping.

With Laravel being a port of rails its pretty easy to get things done and coming from a rails background things are much much easier.

Its the thing I have worked in day to day for the last 7 years. Building systems from scratch and learning from my mistakes has made me comfortable and knowledgeable about which gems to use.
With rails often the hardest task is figuring out which library is the best to use for the job. Most of the heavy lifting does have a library so most issues that come up are integration or picking the right tool. Or bugs that popup from using the tool incorrectly.
