HTML was the first bit of code I ever manipulated and HTML5 was a long over due upgrade. As the building blocks of every website in existence, I'd say you better have a solid understanding of this language or quit coding.

I cut my teeth with server configuration on Rackspace Cloud in 2011. My first stack was a CentOS6 + Nginx + PHP-FPM + WordPress + Magento configuration. I used a separate DB server with CentOS6 + MySQL and both where monitored with Newrelic. Since then building stacks has become easier in Rackspace but I've ventured into Heroku & AWS just to expand my understanding of DevOps

Like HTML5, CSS3 was a breath of fresh air. I was an early adopter as i saw the need for websites to be responsive. Thankfully CSS3 made it easier to go from one device to another without having to build a whole new website.

I've built a few Node sites using Express and EJS. I've been following the Node.js community since around 2012 and would like to work on more Node based projects.
