This spring is going to be a bunch of new beginnings for me. I am very excited to see how everything unfolds.

Activity Pub, in Earnest

I have had a project (joking called federati) in the wings for a while now. I am hoping my personal and work schedules will allow me the time I really need to dig in. Activity Pub is a way to run social interaction networks without a central company or entity being in charge. I like to say it's "Community Hosted and Community Moderated." There are already a few different implimentations of this that "compete" with Twitter with Mastdon currently having the largest user base.

My goals for my software is to provide a single-user instance that lets that user do anything and everything they want with their content. If you're familiar with the term "power user" -- that's who I'm targeting.

Code Mentor

One of my big person changes is returning to work as a programmer. I'm still searching but it's been difficult to return to work after being a mom for 5 years. I'm hoping various smaller positions, like getting started here, will help me get back on track. I look forward to sharing my 8+ years a professional developer with you.
