Excel Max and Min Function

MAX function:

Max function comes under statistical functions in excel. It is used to find the largest number in the range of cells.

Syntax:

=MAX(number1,[number2]...)
Here,number1 is required argument and rest of the numbers are optional.

Using Max Function:

In the above example , we are finding the maximum score from the given list and result will be as shown below:

MIN function:

Min function also comes under statistical functions in excel. It is used to find the smallest number in the range of cells.

Syntax:

=MIN(number1,[number2],...)
Here,number1 is required argument and rest of the numbers are optional.

Using Min Function:

In the above example , we are finding the minimum score from the given list and result will be as shown below:

Note: Min and Max function ignores logical values and text.
