How/Why I learned Python
About me
I graduated Farmingdale State College back in late 2018. I've been looking for a job ever since, but unfortunately, no such luck. Now that it's 2020, it's even harder than ever to fall into a position! I wanted Python to be the opportunity to prove that I'm committed to the craft of programming.
Why I wanted to learn Python
Python is an exceptional language. Lightweight, clean, easy to learn, and most importantly, fun!
How I approached learning Python
I decided to utilize the wonderful services of SkillShare! I followed a course instructed by Tony Staunton.

Challenges I faced
I didn't face too many challenges along the way, although the syntax was the biggest adjustment. I'm so used to adding semicolons everywhere. The amount of code that was like real language was also astonishing. It was definitely an adjustment nonetheless.
Key takeaways
Learning a new language is like learning anything else! It's a slow and steady process. If you stay motivated, consistent, and have fun with it, then you can do anything!
Tips and advice
Totally worth a try. Possibly one of the easiest languages to fall into. I instantly fell in love with it, and I can't wait to explore more!
Final thoughts and next steps
When I'm done polishing up my JSON portion of the lessons and uploading it to my GitHub, I'm immediately going to recreate an older final project of mine from college; specifically, the SSA statistics data for baby names. I can't wait!
