Developed a system for a Major Insurance Intermediary that helped managed thousands of potential company acquisitions more efficiently and safely. Decreased the amount of work effort previously put into the process. Developed a near real-time event system that allowed 3rd party services to integrate in both directions, to and from, a midrange server (IBMi Series). This was made possible with PHP through Zend Server for IBM i which the existing COBOL system was adapted to talk to. The primary purpose was to integrate the existing school district software on the server with a Learning Management System. I coordinated the strategic synergy between all involved parties as well as created the system using best practices to reduce errors and increase flexibility for future features. The way the system was built avoided vendor lock-in and created future opportunities for other services to integrate to us or to them. The pilot program was successful with 10k+ students and there's plans to expand the pilot program.
