I've used Node.js in almost every project I've worked on in the past several years. It's simple, reliable, and quick. From API's to CLI's I think I've just about covered it all. Node's biggest ally is it's awesome package manager, NPM. Adding and maintaining an external library (of which there is one for almost everything) is extremely simple.
