I have worked with really bad databases and really good ones. I have learned most of the hard lessons by making the mistakes myself, and seeing the cost of those mistakes in a production system. This allows me to learn how to avoid the pitfalls of decisions commonly made around storing data. It has taught me how you can fix the problems in production and also how to avoid many of the problems in having a sound design from the start. You have to learn how to ask the right questions about the data you want to store and retrieve.

It is very important to understand data structures and how to choose the right one for the problem you are trying to solve.

I have been designing, coding, maintaining, reporting, and loading data structures throughout my career. I love data.

I love the Python language. I have used it at my past two jobs and it has been a wonderful platform to build strong, stable, distributed, nimble systems.

I have used Django to run websites at my last two jobs. It is a very mature and well supported framework.

git is a wonderful source control technology. I have been implementing and using best practice setups with managing Github repositories in a engineering team setting for my last 2 jobs.
