I’m Matt Gowie (LinkedIn) and I run Masterpoint Consulting, which is myself + ace specialists as needed. I am certified as an AWS Solutions Architect and Hashicorp Terraform associate. I’ve been working with AWS for ~6 years and I’ve been consulting for ~3.5 years. I primarily focus my consulting on AWS Cloud, Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, and general DevOps / CI / CD work. I’ve also got plenty of experience leading engineering teams, managing people, designing good software, and generally solving my folks headaches so I bring a lot else to the table!
I'm a big fan of mentoring and I've done it both in and outside of work for a handful or more different junior engineers. I enjoy the process of helping others understand the programming world and it's a great way for me to put my own knowledge into practice.
Outside of the tech world, I'm big into rock climbing, punk/hardcore music, and traveling.

Matt did a great job going over AWS ECS and Fargate for running an ETL pipeline I have on a schedule. We also went over Terraform and what implementing that would be like. I would highly recommend him to any developer that needs help, especially in a DevOps/Cloud/IaC sense.

Matt was great, it ended up being completely different than what he thought it was going to be and he helped work through the problems, brain storm, and he was extremely patient while I had to take a call from my manager during the session. I would definitely recommend him and plan on using his expertise again.
