HTML is often underrated, but I appreciate the value of good, semantically structured HTML.

I've been using for a while now. I think it helped the diffusion of a lot of good ideas, especially around state management, data flow and application design. I recommend it as a tool to use on any application that requires more than just a sprinkle of in-page interactivity.

I've built all kinds of scale of client-side applications and have very strong opinions on simple patterns that grow well (one way data flow, single application state, idempotent render, immutable data, etc.)

I've been using Ruby as my primary server side language for 4 years. I appreciate its flexibility but also recognise its quirks, especially around metaprogramming.

I've worked on greenfield and brownfield Rails projects, where I learned how to handle complicated data models, layered business logic and proper testing.

Elixir is getting increasingly relevant and I've spent a good two years with it now. I've learnt how to build low-level services around the same principles and tools that make the Erlang platform so powerful. After that, I started looking into the Phoenix web framework and now recommend it over any other solution for high performance web apis with real time functionality.

Most of the times it's just the best tool for the job.
