ABOUT ME
Technology training for rock stars (and normal people too).
Technology training for rock stars (and normal people too).

Hi! My name is Kathleen, and I'm a computer geek, teacher, learner, greyhound rescuer, cat lover, vinyl junkie (1600+ records and counting), hockey fan, vegetarian, and recovering non-profit executive.

MY SPECIALTY IS TEACHING AND MENTORING BEGINNERS. If you're struggling with how to get from A (what you know now) and B (what you want to know), I can help create a learning path that's just right for you.

Learning should be fun, not frustrating. I'll talk to you in plain English (albeit with a cute Canadian accent) and our sessions will never be intimidating. I was a beginner once too. :)

MORE ABOUT ME: I teach technology skills to future rock stars at Harris Institute, a music and audio engineering school in Toronto, Canada. I run an indie record label called Maisonneuve Music. I also publish technology training videos under the moniker Robobunnyattack! Occasionally I break (and fix) computers. Not necessarily in that order.

I built my first WordPress site in 2007, and I've been teaching WordPress since 2010. I've also authored several online WordPress courses aimed at beginner web developers. I help students understand WHY and HOW things work in WordPress –– so they can develop an intuitive understanding of how to use WordPress. My students learn how to configure, edit and update WordPress sites with confidence, following best practices every step of the way. I also guide students who want to learn how to create child themes, custom themes, and simple custom plugins.

I've also authored several online HTML/CSS lessons and tutorials aimed at beginner web developers. I help students understand WHY the code we write looks the way it does –– so they can develop an intuitive understanding of how HTML and CSS work. My philosophy is that coding should be fun, not intimidating! My students learn how to write HTML and CSS code with confidence, following best practices every step of the way. I also guide students who want to extend their HTML/CSS skills to create WordPress child themes and custom themes.
