Hi! My name is Osaze Shears and I am a computer hardware engineer who is passionate about teaching and mentoring others to develop the world's hardware engineering talent base. Over the years I have developed my expertise in hardware engineering by being involved in industry and research efforts that focus on the process of designing, verifying, and creating hardware. My passion for helping others understand and implement these concepts rises from my extensive tutoring experience where I can explain all of the aspects involved to realize these complex devices.
During my professional career and graduate studies, I've had the opportunity to develop my skills in hardware description languages (HDL) such as VHDL, Verilog, and SystemVerilog. I have extensive experience using hardware development tools provided by Xilinx (Vivado, Vitis), Intel (Quartus), and MentorGraphics (ModelSim, Questa) to synthesize this code for FPGA and ASIC designs. I have also been able to develop my software engineering expertise by using programming languages such as Python, Java, C++ and C to run on these hardware designs and verify their functionality. I also have experience with Unity Blender.
Overall, I have served as a tutor for 7 years now and have grown a strong passion for teaching others about computer science and engineering so that they are equipped with the fundamental skills needed to make an impact in these fields. My goal in life is to become a professional computer engineering educator and participating in mentoring and tutoring is key in allowing me to achieve this.
