Resolving Linker Errors Caused By Audio Frameworks

<p>My mentee Andreas Kaitis added a third-party audio framework to his application.  As a result he experienced lots of Mach-o Linker Errors, complaining of missing symbols such as "vDSP_create_fftsetup".</p><p>Adding the Accellerate.framework resolved his problem.</p><p>More-recent CPUs, including the ARM cores used in iOS devices, have "Single Instruction Multiple Data" processing units.  SIMD is a type of parallel processing that works particularly well for audio, video and other types of signal processing.</p><p>It works conceptually like the Altivec in the PowerPC G4, and the MMX in the Intel Pentium, and SSE in the current Core Duo and Core Quad CPUs from Intel.</p><p> </p>
