How to enable word jumps in iTerm 2?

<p><em>Forward and backward word jumping does not work by default in iTerm 2 for OS X.</em></p> <h2><strong>Follow this steps to enable it:</strong></h2> <ol> <li> <p>Open preferences</p> </li> <li> <p>Open Keys tab</p> </li> <li> <p>Select 'Left option (⌥) key acts as: +Esc</p> </li> <li> <p>Press '+' button on below left</p> </li> <li> <p>Clik on Keyboard Shortcut textbox if it's not been selected</p> </li> <li> <p>Press and hold down the left option button (depicted as <em>alt button or </em>⌥) by the pressing left arrow key</p> </li> <li> <p>Click Action selectbox and select 'Send Escape Sequence'</p> </li> <li> <p>In Esc+ textbox, type: b</p> </li> <li> <p>Click OK to save it</p> </li> <li> <p>Do the same steps for the forward key from step 3th to step 8th</p> <ol> <li> <p>For the 5th step: Press and hold down the right option button by pressing the right arrow key</p> </li> <li> <p>For the 7th step: Type: f</p> </li> </ol> </li> </ol>
