Worked closely with the hiring team and successfully hired 8 people during COVID-19 lockdown to set up the team from zero. Paired with other team leads on interviewing candidates. Did behavioural and tech interviews. Took over the leadership of a payments related project, negotiating directly with the CTO and product and working closely with an architect and two team leads to get the project on track. Set up a coaching program with HR, implemented an integration protocol for new joiners to have an easier time starting remote only. Helped hire two other team leads and split the team to bootstrap those teams. Mentored junior engineers on best practices, software architecture and git. Encouraged all team members to use our dating apps or role-play a user to see how we can improve the experience first-hand. Successfully rolled-out Stage 1 of UI improvements on a design refresh project thanks to the amazing work of my team.

Managing the deployment and scaling of microservices on AWS. Created a one-button spin up local development environment so that the developers could quickly get off the ground using docker-compose. Lead a team of 5 people on a game integration project, developed multiple microservices in Node.js using TDD and pair-programming. -- Contracting for a USA Blockchain Company Tech stack: Java, ActiveMQ, Python, Blockchain (Bitcoin, Ethereum ERC20), Angular Methodologies: TDD, Scrum Worked on backend feature integration in Java using TDD, developed an end-to-end test environment for simulating scenarios. Worked closely with product as a security advisor. Worked closely with UX to design how the interface behaves, what information needs to be presented due to strict security requirements.

Technologies: Node.js, MongoDB, Java, Kotlin, Spring Boot, Redis, PostgreSQL, AWS, RabbitMQ Methodologies: Scrum, TDD, Pair programming Took over as a lead of 5 people on a proof of concept project written in Node.js and MongoDB that was having performance issues. Lead the redesign and implementation of the API 2.0 that was rewritten as a microservice architecture using Kotlin Spring Boot Services and tied together with RabbitMQ, used Postgres instead of MongoDB for the data store and Redis for cache to dramatically increase the speed. Worked on product development, coordinating documentation, product presentations, pricing estimates, working with sales as a technical adviser.
