Jake Gerry

I have a passion for problem solving through collaboration and for teaching. I spent 6 years teaching before becoming a software engineer. Some of my favorite moments working as an engineer have been mentoring new and junior engineers. Being a great engineer is so much more than being smart. It’s about communicating well, not getting frustrated when things don’t work, being humble, and approaching problems with curiosity. I had some great mentors as I was learning to code that helped me learn those qualities. Mentoring allows me to combine my two passions and give back.
