A mentor is helpful colleague who can point people in the right direction and clarify specific questions as they arise. I enjoy the opportunity to be of service to others and the challenge of applying my knowledge to creating new solutions. I read about code mentor in the news as a company that helps adults grow as programers, and I want to prosper together with other like minded people. As a code mentor, I would like to use my time in the evenings and weekends to help people with projects, teach tutorials, and build my own portfolio as a helpful consultant.

Starting as a data analyst in 2012, I have fulfilled a number of roles within a vibrant community of data scientists with many research interests centering around Lung disease. I have written a django based web application to allow researchers to start data analysis clusters on a private cloud. I have written data analysis pipelines in the workflow language snakemake and adapted external pipelines to work within the lab's infrastructure. I have generated quality control applications in R-shiny.
