Purpose and Goal

We are committed to providing a friendly, safe, and welcoming environment for all, regardless of level of experience, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, personal appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, age, religion, nationality, or other similar characteristics.

We ask all members of the Codementor Events community - including speakers, sponsors, and those with decision-making authority - to help us create safe and positive experiences for everyone.

Expected Behavior

The following behaviors are expected and requested of all community members:

  • Participate in an authentic and positive way
  • Exercise consideration and respect in your speech and actions
  • Attempt collaboration before conflict
  • Notify our team at events@codementor.io if you need help or have questions about this community

Unacceptable Behavior

Please refrain from any behavior that would hinder the safe and friendly environment we seek to provide. Such behavior includes, but is not limited to:

  • Use of discriminatory, violent, or insulting jokes and language
  • Posting or displaying sexually explicit or violent material
  • Deliberate intimidation, stalking or following
  • Behavior that could be perceived — in any way — as unwanted sexual attention
  • Sustained disruption of community events, talks, and presentations
  • Advocating for, or encouraging, any of the above behavior

Consequences of Unacceptable Behavior

Anyone asked to stop unacceptable behavior is expected to comply immediately.

If a community member engages in unacceptable behavior, the community organizers may take any action they deem appropriate, up to and including, a temporary ban or permanent expulsion from the community without warning (and in the case of a paid event, without refund).

Reporting

If you are subject to or witness unacceptable behavior, or have any other concerns, please reach out to our team (events@codementor.io) as soon as possible. When reporting the violation, please provide as many details as possible, such as:

  • Any contact or identifying information about the person who allegedly violated the Code of conduct
  • Details of the alleged violation such as time, event, channel, etc.
  • Whether the situation is ongoing
  • Whether there were additional witnesses or other people involved
  • Whether or not you would prefer to have your complaint be kept anonymous in the situation
