Top Teaching Developers of July 2017

CTO at Draft AI | #1 CodeMentor for Python, JS, Node, React for now - still working on the others ;)

I'm a Scotsman living in London. I have over 10 years experience coding. I have a first in Computer Science, worked at one of the top cyber security consultancies and am doing some freelance work alongside my startup.

Software Engineer, Geek Guru, Full Stack Developer

I love learn and share my knowledge. I have had to develop software since 15 years ago for work and fun. I contribute in open source & non-profit organizations. Always expanding my skills.

Mentor, Leader and Catalyst

I provide mentoring, training and leading services to small companies and start-ups around the country as well as providing business advice and acting as a catalyst specializing in solving problems that no one else can. I am an expert if a variety of languages, frameworks and services. Ask me anything.

Patient teaching ... (Program/System)Design help ... Implementation help.

Full stack development, python/tornado/postgres/html/css/JS, C++ veteran, rendering. I can help with any of the above, using or creating algorithms and data structures to solve interesting problems.

Senior PHP developer focused on backends, but not resisting some tidy frontends either.

Knowing what you want? Then let's build it. Not quite sure? Then let's look at it and solve it. I do the projects from initial repository creation, through database and communication protocol design up to the final test with the customer, helping out my team mates in the process while also taking good advice from them.

Professor of computer science with industry experience at Google and Microsoft

I am a full professor of computer science at Mills College, highly experienced in teaching and mentoring. I worked 11 years (concurrently with being a professor) at Google as a software engineer and research scientist. I have also worked at Microsoft and on open source projects.

Experienced developer with wide expertise. Teaching and mentoring experience.

I have a broad expertise in software development, from embedded programming, to full stack Javascript web applications. I have built several products from scratch over the past few years as a team lead and startup founder. This includes realtime components to web applications. I have a strong knowledge of functional programming, and Lisp-family languages, with an appreciation for functional design of applications. I founded and organise a Programmer's Study group, and we have studied Machine Learning in the past, and I would be comfortable teaching the principles of Machine Learning. You can find the code we created at the study group online here: https://github.com/CambridgeProgrammerStudyGroup/machine-learning I have taught game development programming (including for university accreditation) through online courses, and am very comfortable with the Unity engine, I can help complete beginners get started, review intermediate programmer's code and project, or contribute to a professional effort with Unity and C# (and other languages on the same platform). My background includes teaching programming online and mentoring both in-person and online. I am currently responsible for a long term apprenticeship, where I am taking someone with no software experience and helping them become a software developer. My weakest knowledge area is relational databases. I'd love to hear about what you need help with, so don't hesitate to get in touch. I'm in the GMT timezone, but can arrange to speak to you no matter where you are.

Full Stack Developer

Ambitious about success but humble about learning, I consider myself to be a quick learner and ready to go the extra mile to attain the detailed precision. I believe making mistakes and asking questions are part of a learning process. I am always there with all the simplest answers and ready to help you out. I am here to help you and in turn hopefully learn something from you.

Full-stack developer

Hello! I'm a developer with 6 years experience building and consulting on web/mobile projects for startups and enterprise companies across the globe. Clean code, good UX and clear communication, with focus on users and developers, are my main goals. Over the time I've worked with Drupal, Wordpress, PHP, Flash AS3, Ruby, Rails, front-end JavaScript (Backbone, Angular, React), Node.js and more recently Erlang and Elixir. I'm also a mentor and teacher at some educational endeavours on web development.

F#

I started learning computer programming with Ruby and Ruby on Rails in March 2013 in a Linux environment (Ubuntu, which is Debian-flavored Linux), so RoR is what I got the most open source project and in-depth training experience in. I am a full stack RoR developer very strong in BDD/TDD and Agile. Since then, I have branched out into JavaScript, Node, Magento, PHP, Angular, Backbone, and now F#. My work experience includes writing manifests, doing security patchwork, and programatically re-rasterizing image files and sanitizing infected databases and wesites. But oddly, PHP and JavaScript is what I got the most actual job opportunities for getting paid work experience in—even though I had to learn PHP and developing on the production server on the fly, which is strange considering that I did not start out learning computer programming in either .NET or PHP. My developer preference zone equally favors the functional (F# and Haskell) and OOP (Ruby/RoR) programming languages. I have a strong PaaS background and strong BDD/TDD capabilities, and a four year degree in mathematics. So I am primarily a full-stack Ruby on Rails software developer with a growing collection of successful PHP, JavaScript and F# closed source contract projects. So far, I have worked mostly with relational databases (MySQL, SQL, etc. etc.). I live in Erie County, Pennsylvania and I prefer remote positions but I am willing to commute to Buffalo or Cleveland. I am not available on-site full-time outside of this commuting area without upfront relocation assistance.
