While working on virtual reality projects, I've often used Unity, which uses C#. Surprisingly even in Unity C# tends to require using lots of Microsoft APIs. My only computer for the past 2 years has been a Chromebook. All my programming happens in a terminal SSH'd into a remote server. So I use the shell a lot.
