Freelance Full Stack Developer
Experienced senior backend developer and senior systems engineer
I've done tons of work on systems and backend development. Highlights of my work: - Automated bare-metal deployment and management of Linux and Solaris systems - Built a cloud compute platform with a Flask API, Python services, RabbitMQ for messing, and MongoDB for persistence, powered by VMWare vSphere - Managed thousands of systems with Salt and integrated Salt into said cloud platform - Operated distributed applications on AWS - Tested/built/deployed all of the above with CI/CD
Specialist in saving production servers from certain doom. Linux, NodeJS & AWS are in his daily cup of tea. Lifetime coder and networking ninja, graceful under fire and capable of working in multiple languages.
I put out cyber fires over donuts and camp fires. Polyphasic sleeper serving all timezones! Provider of live-help in real-time via video conference for technologies I have mastered and problems no one else can solve. Writer of re-brandable content management systems (every app has content, does it not?), re-usable apps & APIs, member of Mensa & Intertel, slayer of salmon. Human languages for fun, programming languages for breakfast. I left Detroit in the Dot-Com era to live deep in the north woods, I wear camo every day and kill my own food when I have to. I solve my own problems with grace and efficiency. I'll be happy to solve yours! My three most valuable skills: * Problem solving * Anticipation (of variables and user expectations) * Machine logic These skills, when applied to any challenge, design or technology stack, produce efficient and reliable results. What I enjoy most about Code Mentor: Utilizing my unique skill set to solve a diverse set of challenging critical issues for people in a bind. My most satisfying sessions solve very difficult and unique situations for those who have already exhausted their available human resources. I also really enjoy students who gain enlightenment from the deep insights that I can provide during our sessions. FAQ * No, I am not a robot. But my bots might be one day. * Yes, we have roads & electricity here, you should visit. :) * No, I will not travel anywhere , unless you provide a space ship or parachute. ** POLICIES ** * If you are dissatisfied with my service in any way, I will refund you in full * I do not generally charge for the "show & tell" phase of our session or random digressions * If your request rate is higher than my standard rate, our session rate will match your request rate * I try to make a record of all changes and be able to revert them quickly, but it is your responsibility to archive responsibly * CodeMentor has changed my life in very positive ways and I strictly adhere to their billing policy. All offline work must be paid for through CM at standard or agreed upon rates. * Time management is *not* my specialty. If you need your thing done, it's best to do it live in real-time. ;) ** SUPPORT TIERS ** Level 0: $30/15 - My weak areas / Voodoo+ / Students / First 100 Clients - Easy JS stuff Level I: $50/15 - Standard rate Level II: $65/15 - High pressure environments / General Wizardry + - Advanced AWS (recovery, security, etc) - Docker / Elastic Beanstalk / Lambda - Forensics - Distaster recovery - POS - High-level security - React - Pre-scheduled hours outside 12:00 - 21:00 EST - Advanced design (animation, meteor, 3D, crazy toolkit requirements, WP) Level III: $80/15 - Extreme pressure / Heavy Wizardry / Deep Magic + - Emergency response for mission-critical systems - Dedicated support through to resolution - Level II + Pre-scheduled hours outside 12:00 - 21:00 EST - Jump to top of queue! + http://www.catb.org/jargon/html/go01.html Moments: * 20160707 - My first session! * 20160817 - My 100th session! Professional programmer; hobbyist teacher; patient zealot for depth of understanding in both
I have been in love with programming and amateur programmer since high school, and have worked as a programmer for quite a few years now, mostly in mobile, especially iOS (but I'm looking to shift more to Android and/or the backend side of mobile). I take great pleasure in helping others to find their way into programming (and anything else I know about), and I believe strongly in gaining as much depth of understanding as possible in any field, rather than skimming just enough to get by. I am very patient, and I share my passions without delegitimising other views. I have a natural leaning towards and am increasingly influenced by the perspective of EW Dijkstra and believe that a programmer should be able to know that her work is correct, not just get it to work satisfactorily.

CodementorX saved me a lot of time by sending a shortlist of qualified developers within 72 hours. On top of that, payment through CodementorX was secure and communication was easy. I was extremely satisfied with the engagement!
As a marketplace and 500 Startups company ourselves, we were happy to give CodementorX’s platform a go when we needed developers with specialized skillsets. They did not disappoint and allowed us to find qualified devs painlessly.
Besides having access to highly talented and experienced web developers, CodementorX's project management service also help manage timeliness and bridge communication between the founders and the web developers. This is extremely helpful and valuable, especially for non-technical founders like myself.
