full-stack developer ● IT architecture & strategy ● DevOps ● smokejumper

Solid programmer. Great trouble-shooter, debugger, and "OMG! Everything is on fire! HALP!!" first responder. Especially good at complex integration and automation. Having "jumped the fence" into new programming languages and communities multiple times, strong mentor for just getting into new toolsets and approaches, or moving into cloud/DevOps deployments. Heavily using Python, JavaScript, nodejs, jQuery, d3.js, HTML, CSS, SVG, and LESS. Have worked extensively with PHP, WordPress, Perl, Java, SQL, MySQL, PostreSQL, XML, ODF, NoSQL, and a bunch of other stuff. Interested in, but have not relied on Ruby, Go, Julia, Rust, D, and Nim in production code. I can get in the wayback machine and do C, bash, awk, Ada, Pascal, Modula-2, Icon, LISP, Prolog, and Smalltalk, depending how far back you want to go. We'll pretend that BASIC thing never happened, s'ok? I've programmed inside the Unix kernel, distributed multi-threaded middleware, GUIs, application code, numerical/HPC, and more.

Software Developer and Consultant

I'm a passionate project manager and full stack software engineer with over 10 years experience. I've devoted the past 8+ years to mobile, cloud and IoT. I love working in the software industry and keeping up with the latest trends and technologies. I've produced software systems for Nissan UK, Pepsico, Renault, McCurach UK, OpenCinma, AOD, Centrilogic, Dacentec, VIP and many others. I've worked for clients in Ireland, Silicon Valley, NY, UK, Germany, France and many others. I specialize in delivering cloud based web applications and Android and iOS projects that are of a particularly complex nature or that are under aggressive time deadlines. Mnay of the projects I've delivered had a significant hardware element and used Bluetooth, NTF, QR Code and a large range of IoT devices. I love the challenges of tackling difficult and novel projects that utilize emerging technologies. Throughout the life cycle of a project I keep in close contact with my clients through daily Skype calls and daily or weekly code pushes and email updates. Towards the end of a project I spend time working with my clients to ensure they have the in-house expertise to understand and maintain the source code after I'm done. Rigorous engineering standards are at the heart of everything I've done in my professional life.

Software Architect, Full Stack Developer and Consultant

Welcome. Hi, I’ve done quite a bit over the years in the software industry. For the past 15+ years I’ve been working with mainly Microsoft .NET and have a keen interest in web development, code, machine learning, psychology, business and start-ups. Too Much Information I’ve been writing code since I was a kid. It started off when I’d get a magazine called Crash! fortnightly for the Spectrum. It had a tape with demos of full priced games (which I could never afford) so after I’d played those to death, I’d type out the code listings in the back of the magazines and play with those “games”. I’d hack away at them, changing how they behaved and thought it was cool how I could change things and control what they done. This led onto the Commodore 64 and a number of Amiga’s where I hacked around with Blitz Basic and various incarnations of AMOS. During the Amiga years I ran a BBS called The Forum! BBS from my bedroom. I had people from all over the world that would dial into that over a 36k modem. I was also a Fidonet node and involved in the Public Domain scene. I collaborated with other coders in Europe and tried my hand at writing the next “Zelda”. We never did finish it but I’m sure I still have the sprites somewhere. Naturally all of this led to me studying Diplomas and Degrees and university and embarking on a career in tech. I researched machine learning and sentiment analysis techniques during a Masters degree which resulted in the creation of a product called Social Opinion that mines data from social networks (beta). This work resulted in me being offered an invite to Twitter HQ in San Francisco! Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions, would like a topic covered or are interested in working on something together!

I involve in IVR Customer behavioral analysis, Reporting and Assessing business impact for developing better customer service experience applications. I drive my customer contact centers to improve agent productivity, maximize return on technology investments and reduce costs. I always try to adhere my profession to - "Quality in a service or product is not what you put into it. It is what the client or customer gets out of it. - Peter Drucker"

Experienced consultant/Project manager

Professional with 17 years of IT consulting and software development experience in Latin America (Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Mexico) and strong technical background (software development, infra-structure, telecom) and excellent negotiation and relationship skills. Field of acting covers from software development/architecture till definition of strategy/budget of IT department and product/services to be commercialized. Strong experience in multidisciplinary team management, including teams from various countries. Solid experience in project management starting form pre-sales and going through post-implementation. Worked with markets of e-commerce, financial (cards), construction, hospital/health care, services and logistics.

Pythonista

Rome was not built in a day. That's probably because they didn't have coffee. My passions are fiddling with development tools and programming languages, learning as much as I can so that I can find ways to improve my development process. Oh, and code golf is pretty fun, too. Software engineering is going to be the most important field very soon, with the exponential advancement and spread of computer technology. We need more code monkeys.
