Video & Recap
Scalable Data Visualization in React.js

This talk will go in-depth about the use of React.js for visualization. We will discuss various techniques for rendering, and the pros and cons of each, including: render targets (canvas vs. SVG), client-server application architecture optimized for large data, and integration with other visualization libraries including d3.js.

React.js is a collaboration-creation by Facebook and Instagram that is gaining popularity for its ease of use. Lots of people use React as the V in MVC. Since React makes no assumptions about the rest of your technology stack, it's easy to try it out on a small feature in an existing project.

Zach Nation is a software engineer at Dato (previously GraphLab), working to help data scientists create predictive applications. He was previously a senior software developer at Microsoft.

Relevant technologies during this session: React.js, D3.js, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, SVG
