Top Senior Merge Developers - Dec 2017
Full-stack Freelance Developer
I'm a full-stack web developer who's been working in the industry for over 10 years. I'm a true polyglot developer, having lead/architectural experience with a wide variety of tech stacks, from Python/Django, Ruby on Rails, Node (express.js/koa) on the backend, to Angular.js, React and Ember.js on the frontend. I spent 7 years in the animation industry as a Web Software Architect, building internal applications to help studios manage their production pipelines. Since leaving that industry, I've been consulting mostly with start-ups to help turn their MVP into a solid foundation and scale their tech to a fully fleshed out product. I also spent 6 months as an Instructor at a code school called Bitmaker and absolutely loved the experience. I love sharing my experience with others. Feel free to reach out and I'd be happy to help you.

Android | Web developer | Algorithms | OOP | Math | Databases
I can help you with .NET, Android, Web, iOS, C and Azure.
I work has a solution architect, and have been training in one form or the other for the last 5 years. I am good at teaching those who are completely new to a particular topic. For instance, lets say you have been a web forms (dot net) developer all this while. However, you have been advised that you will be working on dot net MVC from the next project. In situations like that, where you are learning something entirely new but still wish to harness what you already know, I am the guy for you. Another instance would be, you are really now starting your journey into the wonderful but terrifying world of development (it could be android, web, iOS or Azure) and you want someone to ease you into this. Well, I am that trainer. I am patient, i can be wonderfully funny, use all sorts of dramatic examples and generally keep things excited. Expert Programmer of 15+ Years - Rails to React, Webpack and beyond
iOS developer with 50+ Apps. Founded 3 companies.
Specialties: • iPhone/iPad/iOS Development • Product Management & Development • Lean Startup • Entrepreneurship Would you like to see the list of applications I have worked on that are in the App Store? Check out my TapFame profile: https://tapfame.com/matthew-knippen/ With a strong background in Objective-C, iOS Applications and Apple products, I keep my primary focus on developing applications for the iPhone and iPad. I am able to promote what I am doing well with a large amount of sales experience. Having both the tech side and the sales side is not a common trait. I am the type of person that if I do not know the answer to a question, I know how to find it. I am constantly expanding my knowledge base in every possible direction, and in the process becoming more of a valuable resource. I am also a very hard worker, and ready to handle whatever is thrown at me.
Software Development Engineer @ Amazon
I'm a Master student of Software Engineering and SDE at Amazon (Alexa Language Technologies). I've done a couple of internships during my studies, including ones at Nvidia (Linux graphics drivers), Microsoft (Office, primarily worked on projects related to MS Word and MS Sway) and Amazon (I work on Text-to-Speech framework for Amazon Polly and Alexa). I've been programming for around 10 years now. I also used to be a Student Teaching Assistant and I find teaching/mentoring extremely motivating - sometimes I'd get introduced to new interesting topics that I'd probably never think of finding out about on my own if it wasn't for the purpose of explaining it to someone else. Sometimes I'd get a completely new perspective on subjects I thought I knew when trying to find a way to present it to someone else. I'd really love to keep learning this way. One of the topics I'm always happy to talk about are the interviews - I've done a fair share of them, most of them in top tech companies and I would love to share what I've observed so far. I'm always up for tackling interesting interview questions, doing mock interviews or just giving resume tips (I got my interviews at Amazon without a referral, so I might know a trick or two to make your resume stand out. :)) Other than that, you can always reach out to me if you have questions related to Java, Python, C, C++, Android, SQL, GIT, Mathematics etc. I try to keep my knowledge and skills up to date and learn something new every day by helping you!
Polyglot developer with an obsession for modularity
I'm a self taught developer, and ever since my first job, given enough time at a workplace I've always become the guy who people go to when they're stuck, and I've enjoyed doing the same on various online communities. I've always found those interactions very rewarding, I find it much easier to apply myself in a focused way to helping other people solve their problems. I really believe in the "teach a man to fish" cliche. If you are a student or need help working on open source, I offer a 50% rate reduction. Note that I will not solve exercises/assignments for you, I am only willing to help you to solve them yourself. Finally, I suggest you check out this great write up by Adam Goldman, another mentor on this site, which has some great tips on how better utilize this service https://www.codementor.io/adamgold/get-the-most-out-of-your-session-5c5iho6ns
