Job description

Five & Done is searching for an exceptionally well-rounded WebGL / Javascript Developer to help us create thoughtful, strategy-driven, passion-fueled websites, and other digital experiences. The ideal candidate has an amazing eye for design, truly loves motion, and understands the impact a half second delay can make. They have experience covering all aspects of front-end development, but have a special place in their heart for 3D and animation.

If this sounds like you, and you’ve done some awesome work in the past, share it with us. Then we can set up a time to chat and geek out on it.

Reporting to the Director of Development and Creative Director, we’ll look to you to use your skills of a developer to identify and implement the best, creative, most efficient, and easy-to-use solutions to our client’s challenges. On a given day, you might build a particle system to be used on a website seen by millions, create a custom shader to get that perfect effect, prototype an internal concept, or help a fellow developer win a foosball game.

Responsibilities:

• Bring ideas to the table. Wouldn’t it be cool if… • Collaborate with project and creative leadership to understand our client’s needs, and then design the best way to exceed them • Work with our designers to convert their creative vision into a fully functional, polished reality • Develop awesome responsive visual experiences. • Utilize 3D software to inject into development workflows. • Experiment with new and fun technologies like VR and AR • Help scope new business opportunities, providing technical recommendations and participating in project pitches, as needed • Manage, oversee, and help grow our junior and mid-level developers • Stay on top of the latest trends in our industry and suggest ways to keep Five & Done progressive.

About You:

• You visit Awwwards and The FWA on a daily basis. • You’ve been developing with HTML/CSS/JS for at least 5 years. • You’ve got an eye for design and you suggest usability improvements where you see fit • Shaders! Yeah, you’ve built those. • You can’t stand releasing a product that’s not a top-notch experience for the user • You love making things move. • You’re no stranger to After Effects • You have some experience with libraries like Three.js • You hack and tinker with projects on the side. • You’re interested in learning, or are already experienced in AR and VR.
