I'm a multidisciplinary autodidact, equally at home analysing business models and needs as taking user feedback for product refinements, but I am most at home architecting and building bespoke ground up solutions that meets those needs to the highest degree. I don't knock things out quickly using off-the-shelf packages yet I strive for the highest efficiency in my approaches. Previously Technical Director with a London agency, I've since worked on startups of my own and others, as well as pursuing opensource projects.

Having developed across many development environments (C#.NET, Java, AppleScript, Cocoa, Miva, Lua) and platforms, (web, mobile, macOS, Windows) for purposes from business automation to marketplaces and API gateways, yet also protocols (SMTP, HTTP, DNS, …), I've an extremely broad understanding of how software can be used, and equally, how it can be optimised. Not to mention expertise in hiring, training and managing development teams.

Having originally started out as a web designer and subsequently picked up web development and UX, I am not just full-stack, but far more with knowledge of concerns from security to performance optimisation and usability across multitudinous projects in varied fields.

I not only consider the user but the business needs alike, translating them into workable and efficient processes online whilst keeping in mind the established industry best practices. I often edit and undertake copywriting to be jargon-free and approachable for the user and whilst promoting the call-to-action. I've also written technical manuals and specifications similarly.

As a multi-year project for a private platform I built a bespoke opensource web framework and NoSQL database system utilising Lua for its flexibility, simple syntax in embedded usage (friendly even to designers!), and performance (<1ms dynamic web page generation) as compared more common but laggardly PHP frameworks such as Magento and Wordpress. This solution is optimal for high-performance on low cost VPS hosting (i.e. $20/month) handling tens of millions of hits per day, maintaining 'instantaneous' responsiveness even under load peaks.
